Meet our New Scholars

“Hi my name is Adam Aguilar. I am from Chicago, Illinois, and I am a caddie at Ridgemoor Country Club. I am studying engineering at Michigan. I hope to someday work for NASA, SpaceX, Boeing or JPL, and I want to be part of a team to send people to Mars. In my college career, I am most looking forward to meeting a lot of new people.”

“Hello my name is Evan Finsterwald. I am from Grand Blanc, Michigan, and caddied at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club. I plan on majoring in either finance or economics with a minor in computer science. This summer I mainly caddied and worked in the bag room at Warwick Hills. I am honored to have received the Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship and will take advantage of this opportunity to obtain my education from the best university in the world. Go Blue!”

“My name is Erik Haneberg and I am a New Scholar from Chicago. I caddied at Evanston Golf Club and plan to do a biology major on a pre-med track. I've always wanted to become a doctor after I broke five different bones literally from head to toe during middle and high school. Over the summer I was able to travel to Australia with my family to visit my sister who lives out there in the middle of nowhere in the outback. It was cool, and I met a few kangaroos. At Michigan I'm hoping to really find a new community, where I can be involved in a bunch of different things.”

“My name is Noah Maike. I am from West Bloomfield, Michigan, and I caddie at Orchard Lake Country Club. I plan on majoring in biomedical engineering during my time here at U of M, with a possibility of medical school after graduation. I spent this summer caddying at OLCC and preparing to start my freshman year. During my four years at school I hope to get a great education and also meet new people from a variety of schools, majors and backgrounds.”

“My name is Brendan Neary, and I'm a freshman Evans Scholar at the University of Michigan. I am currently planning on majoring in economics in the School of Literature, Science, and the Arts with a focus on pre-law. My goal for my immediate future after U of M is to go to law school. I'm really excited to meet new people and learn about the things that I love in college.”

“My name is Jack Xin. I caddie at Riverside Golf Club in a suburb near Chicago. I am beyond excited to be able to undergo a college experience at the University of Michigan, a true dream! I aspire to be involved with medicinal business, and I feel that UMich has the best resources to help me get there. The people here radiate a warm yet driven environment, and I intended to meet a great deal of them during my time here. I'm thrilled to take in everything UMich has to offer, from Bruegger's Bagels (which is my favorite bagel place now) to my professional degree. Go Blue!!”

“Hi, my name is Anna Vento. I grew up in Livonia, Michigan, and caddied at Meadowbrook Country Club. As of now I am thinking about majoring in computer science or economics, and I’m also applying to the Ross School of Business next year. This summer I spent most my time caddying and hanging out with friends. I’m unsure about what I want to do in my future, but I hope to do well in order to give back to my parents who adopted me from South Korea.”
